Ronda Rousey To RETIRE Due To DEPRESSION Over First Career Loss? Former UFC Women’s Champ Vows To Return For A Rematch

Ronda Rousey is currently struggling with depression after she experienced a big loss on her career for the first time on Saturday night during the "UFC 193" fight in Melbourne, Australia. Fans and UFC enthusiasts alike definitely got the biggest shock of their lives when Rousey's opponent, Holly Holm, knocked her out with a brutal punch on the second round in what had been called the most disappointing fight in the UFC history.

With Ronda Rousey's depression and first career loss, is the 28-year-old former UFC Women's Bantamweight champ planning for an early retirement? As of late, Rousey is recuperating after her lip was split during the fight. And according to E! News, she will focus more on resting and regrouping in Los Angeles while a possible rematch is on the horizon.

Ronda Rousey, however, is not just facing depression. Because of her loss, she has been mocked and tormented on social media. Celeb Dirty Laundry even claimed she's in hiding after a slew of celebrities slammed both her character and the way she went down on the online realm. Among the celebs who criticized her included Lady Gaga, Laila Ali, 50 Cent and Brazilian fighter Berthe Correia.

"Hey! Ronda Drowsy," Correia's Instagram post read, with the caption, "She [Ronda] said she was going to win Floyd and any man." While 50 Cent posted an edited pic with fictional boxer Rocky Balboa holding Rousey with a caption, "LMAO FLOYD TOLD ME TO POST THIS, he want me to do the dirty work."

Lady Gaga also posted on Instagram saying, "THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR NOT TOUCHING GLOVES!" While Muhammad Ali's daughter Laila said, "In order to be the best in the world, you definitely don't ever get beat up like that in your prime, period."

In order not to let depression rule her feelings, Ronda Rousey seemed to just let the nasty comments slide and wrote an Instagram message to her fans, promising her comeback.

"I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support," she wrote late Sunday night. "I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I'm fine. As I mentioned before, I'm going to take a little bit of time, but I'll be back.

Despite a rough weekend, Ronda Rousey, who's reportedly suffering from depression, appeared to be confident that she can return to the top of the sport after suffering her first loss. But USA Today's For The Win noted that she wasn't just knocked out during the fight, she was also exposed. And though she'll undeniably fight better in a rematch against Holm, Rousey needs more time to train and improve in order to prove that she will not be outshined as one of the best fighters in UFC.
