‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Season 2 Episode 9 ‘What Did We Do?’: #HTGAWM Mid-Season Finale Bares #WhoShotAnnalise!

"How To Get Away With Murder" season two has already reached its climax and it was explosive. Viewers were blown away after the greatest mystery — #WhoShotAnnalise — was finally solved. Wes did it.

"How To Get Away With Murder" unveiled who pulled the trigger on Annalise Keating. Who murdered Emily Sinclair was also bared after a series of twist and turns throughout season two.

In Sinclair's case, it was Asher (Matt McGorry) who ran the car over her and Annalise's shooting is actually just a plan to frame up Catherine Hapstall (Amy Okuda) for supposedly murdering the defense lawyer.

And to complete the murderous scene which they are staging, the lawyer dialed 911 and said that she was shot by Catherine. She then asked her students to shoot her leg, but Laurel, Connor and Michaela don't want to do it and this prompted the lawyer to beg Wes Gibbins to pull the trigger.

To push him to action, Keating deliberately disclosed she has been lying to him all along and that Rebecca, his ex-girlfriend, is already dead. Picking the gun, Wes aimed it to criminal law professor but instead of pointing it to her leg, the student seems to be contemplating on killing her completely instead of just wounding. In that moment, the lawyer softly uttered "Christoph" and the scene shifted to Wes' childhood days. The flashback suggested that the lawyer actually knew him since he was a just a kid.

"How to Get Away With Murder" made another big revelation by showing that the professor is in some ways accountable for her student's fate of losing his mother when he was young. Back then, Wes was called Christoph, and the flashback shows Annalise and Eve watching him through a two-way mirror while being questioned about what happened to his mother who died ofsuicide. The the final scene concluded with "Annalise, what did you do?"

And, who killed Sam?

Since the focus was on #WhoShotAnnalise, viewers might be forgetting that there's still another mystery that needs to be closed. Annalise's husband's murder was still unresolved until Keating told Asher that some of the Keating 5 did it!

But one big question in #HTGAWM is: Was Wes has always been the shooter?

The show's creator and executive producer of the show, Peter Nowalk sat down with Hollywood Reporter to explained how the story veered to having Wes as Annalise's shooter.

The producer said, "That came later. We don't know a lot when we start. All we knew is that Annalise was in that mansion bleeding out. Then we come up with our theories. Eventually we came up with the idea that Annalise shot herself or had someone shoot her."

He continued, "I was really freaked out by the idea for a while but the writers encouraged me to keep going with it. We didn't know who it was going to be at all. The whole time. A lot of us thought it was going to be Laurel (Karla Souza) but it wasn't until we got into that episode and really started to talk about the why and how that we figured out it was Wes, and Annalise would have pulled that final card to make it happen."

"How To Get Away With Murder" was a roller coaster ride of flashbacks and forwards but finally everything fell into place with episode 9, the season's finale. And that ending with "Annalise, what did you do?" was intense and it effectively put the viewers to the edge of their seats. Most probably, they can't wait to see how the story will unfold in the next season which is slated to premiere on February 2016.
