Local Website Helps Teenagers Find Local Jobs to Earn Money For the Holidays

People would love to earn some extra money especially the students during the holiday season. A local business is helping teenagers earn money by helping their neighbors with some small jobs and brought their services to Westford.

According to Lowellsun, a local business is helping some teenagers that are willing to earn some money over the holidays. Ourly.help is an online platform that helps youth entrepreneurs and members of their community who need help with finding basic jobs in and around their homes.

The site gives them a chance to earn about $10 an hour without a solid commitment to a part-time job. They can do these jobs while preparing themselves for freelance jobs that emphasize in helping those who need help around them.

This idea came to being after CEO John Malone had a discussion with fellow fathers about the challenges they are facing in finding some jobs for local kids around the house. The problem they cited is that students are busy in finding a part-time job. At the moment, the company is present in 10 communities in Massachusetts. Westford is the newest addition here.

The website isn't only about finding jobs for teens between the ages of 14 to 19 years old make some extra money. They also donate $1 for each hour of service completed by each person to a charitable organization. One of the chosen charities is the Wounded Warriors Foundation or if they opt to donate it to a local organization that can also be arranged.

The jobs that are offered in the website vary. From raking leaves during autumn and shoveling the snow to removing air conditioners at the end of summer. The website doesn't allow the teenagers to do anything that would make them handle hot, high, sharp things. Malone said that this means no climbing of ladders, using knives or babysitting. The jobs are simple and they don't need to undergo training. The website however, trains them on house safety. Like how to make the first knock on the doors of strangers, preparing assignments and of course time management.

The website is performing background checks on people according to Malone. This is so they can check the people asking for help and the neighborhood they live in. The $10 per hour salary is deposited safely into each teenager's bank account the Monday after they have completed their work.
