Asus users will see fewer ads in their default browsers as the company will be partnering with Adblock Plus.
Ads are one of the most annoying stuffs that are always encountered by an internet surfer. For Asus users, this dilemma is about to end as the Taiwanese company is planning to incorporate Adblock Plus to their products starting next year.
In a statement, Till Faida stated that that AdBlock Plus is very much joyful about the said partnership.
"We're extremely happy to team up with Asus, the first major hardware manufacturer to integrate ad blocking into their mobile devices. This is another call for innovation in the ad industry-a call getting louder by the day," said by the CEO and co-founder of AdBlock Plus.
In an interview with Motherboard, Faida also stated that the ad blocking software will be incorporated into the Asus' default browser. The said program is then tasked to block all incoming ads except when the user puts certain advertisements to the AdBlock Plus' Acceptable Ads menu.
This means that anyone who will buy a smartphone or tablet from Asus starting next year will have the AdBlock Plus software already seared in their primary browsers.
However, the ad filtering will not work the same if users use Chrome, Firefox and other third party browsers available in the Play Store.
AdBlock Plus is one of the most popular ad blocker software so far. Just recently, the said application had a major update which allowed users to permit some of the ads to be displayed in their browsers.
Ad blocking is still a controversial topic in the tech world. The issue concerning the removal of ads started just this year when Apple officially allowed ad blocker software for their iOS version of Safari browser. The blocking of ads would mean the loss of income for some publishers. But some of the ads still deserve to be blocked as they intrude the browsing experience of the users.
