Jay Z Wants To Build Harry Styles As A Solo Artist, Eyes One Direction Member to Join His Record Label

Jay Z has revealed that he wants Harry Styles to join his record label Roc Nation as he believes that the One Direction member could rise to prominence as a solo artist.

On Sunday, in an interview with the Daily Star, Jay Z admitted that his interested in signing Harry as a solo artist to his company but although he's itching to take the music artist within his record label, he confessed that taking him would be a challenging process because he needs to negotiate with the band's current boss Simon Cowell.

However, the rapper has some good ideas in mind "for everybody to get a piece of the pie." Instead of working solo with Harry, he thinks that Simon would take everything into consideration if he will offer the X Factor judge a "joint venture."  He believes that working with Simon to build Styles career is a good idea as they "both have big qualities" which they can both bring to the table.

Jay Z's interest came after he noticed Harry's charisma to people. The music mogul strongly believes that the singer doesn't need help in terms of exposure as he is totally aware that Styles is known in the world. He also thinks that the 21 year old singer can make a lot of money, but for them to materialize that, he said that the young musician should start a "transition" on being a band member to becoming a successful solo music artist.

While the negotiation for Styles solo career hasn't started yet, Jay Z said that he can help the young singer to collaborate with other famous artists and eventually "have him as the biggest artist within a year."

It was late last year when the One Direction confirmed that they are taking a hiatus from the music industry, but strongly denied that they will be moving forward with solo albums amid widespread rumors that they are planning to continue but with a solo careers.
