Top 5 Things To Do Career-Wise In 2016

They say that the new year provides us with a new chance not only in life but also in terms of career-boosting and job-seeking opportunities.

To help you start your career year right, check out these tips.

1.    Make a list of the companies you want to work for.

All of us have dream companies that we wanted to be a part of. Although some of these companies are too big for a career start, it is not impossible. Thus, continue to keep a list with your favorite companies and complete it with their information, including websites, possible contacts, and links to their jobs pages. Check them every now and then, and take the shots.

2.    List of people you should connect or get in touch with.

We all have that friend who has a friend who knows a friend who works for our dream companies. Right? Keep them. They might come in handy. Also, have a list of people you can continuously ask for advice and another list for people who you consider as inspirational. Talk to them (or follow their social media accounts) as often as you can and continue to be inspired by them.

3.    Goals you want to achieve in 2016, career-wise.

Goals without plans are just wishes. That is why aside from the goals you want to achieve this year, also jot down the steps that you can take in order to achieve them. Take one step at a time, and make sure your goals are realistic.

4.    A career bucket list.

What do you want to do? What do you want to achieve? Where do you want to work? Do you plan to apply abroad? Do you want to start a business? Write them down, and remind yourself of these list every time you feel like you are going nowhere.

5.    Sets of "to-do" list for your everyday use.

Make a main "to-do" list. This list should contain things you need, by all means, to be able to do at the end of the day. On the other hand, make another list for things you can do if you have extra time during that day. Lastly, make a list of things you need to do but are not as important as your main "to-do" list.
