American record producer Dame Grease, known for his association with Hip-Hop legends DMX, the LOX, Ruff Riders, Max B, Swizz Beats, Jadakiss and a whole lot more, thinks that 2016 is the perfect time for Hip-Hop to be recognized more. By that, he means a Guinness World Record.
According to All Hiphop, Grease has made serious plans for this year. He is looking to set a new record for producing and releasing the most number of Hip-Hop songs in one year.
He told All Hiphop that he believes that this could be something great for Hip-Hop and that it brings more fun to the game. "While the record is based on the number of songs, I think the true challenge and fun is the effort to make the music itself great. I feel as if my track record, whether it's with DMX or Max B or anyone else I've worked with, shows my dedication towards ensuring quality music," Grease states.
Grease wants to make sure that even though most participants are known Hip-Hop heads, emcees who haven't had their opportunities yet will get the chance. "Whether it's a superstar like Snoop Dogg or a dope new guy who happens to be making songs in his basement, I want them to be able to reach me and be a part of this," he adds.
Each song that will be released is going to be documented from 12:00 PM EST December 31, 2015 to 12:00 PM EST December 31, 2016, so that the finally tally shall cover a full year and then will be submitted to Guinness World Records.
