If you've seen Baywatch back in the 90's then you most likely are familiar with Pamela Anderson and her famous running shot at the beach. In recent news, a reboot is going to be produced but the big question is - who is the actress who will reprise Pamela Anderson's role in the new Baywatch?
The perfect woman for the job is the popular Sports Illustrated model Kelly Rohrbach. She will play Anderson's famous life-guard and heart-throb saving role in the new Baywatch movie as CJ.
The rebooted version will also star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Which role will he be playing? The big bodied action star will reprise David Hasselhoff's role. He will be shirtless and saving lives with Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario (Johnson's co-star in San Andreas).
The movie is expected to have a lot of shirtless men, tons of swimsuits and jokes. And Efron also confirmed that the new film will also carry the slo-motion shots from the 90's flick, as proof and for kicks, a demonstration by Johnson in his Instagram post with his social media handle @therock. He captioned it:
For our #BAYWATCH and the iconic role of "CJ Parker" I had to make sure @kellyrohrback was... tough.
Efron, in an interview, recently described the film as:
R-rated and badass.
Will it be the same as the old Baywatch we used to know? Efron explains that it may not be the same as the original. He mentions that the production will re-invent the movie and Johnson apparently has huge plans for the film. This is a very grey comment if the 90s expectations are all in our minds right now but Johnson is ambitious so maybe the reboot can be pulled off successfully.
The question is, will Rohrbach have the same famous running profile as Anderson did in the 90's? We will just have to wait for the trailers or the movie to find out.
Director Seth Gordon has scheduled the film to begin production this year, online posts indicated.
