Are Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Dave Franco shortlisted to play young Han Solo for 'Star Wars' Spin Off?

If you haven't seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens yet, please stop here because this post contains spoilers.

After the wrongful death of Han Solo in the clutches of his own son, Ben Solo, or more viciously known as Kylo Ren, an untitled spin-off is ready to be produced.

The successful franchise is busy winding its gears again.

The spin-off which is going to be directed by The Lego Movie's Phil Lord and Chris Miller is scheduled to be in production next year. The screenwrite will be penned by Lawrence Kasdan who also did The Empire Strikes Back and The Force Awakens.

The big question is, who is going to play the younger version of Harrison Ford's Han Solo? The soon-to-be youthful Han Solo is set to make an appearance in the Star Wars spin-off titled Rogue One. The scheduled release date is targeted for December. The setting will be prior to the Star Wars 1977 installment.

A shortlist has risen that Disney has personally picked. Actors such as Scott Eastwood (Clint Eastwood's son), Transformers: Age of Extinction actor Jack Reynor, Logan Lerman who played in Percy Jackson, Emery Cohen, Blake Jenner from the popular television series Glee, are names found on the shortlist. However, Disney has not confirmed their involvement.

These actors are about a decade, more or less, younger than when Ford played Han Solo back in 1977 but age shouldn't matter especially if Fantastic Four's Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Dave Franco are also part of the shortlisted actors.

Now we know the young Han Solo is in the works and we bid goodbye to the elder Han Solo. However, Harrison Ford hinted that he may not be dead after all.

During the Golden Globes, Ford slipped to Roger Friedman that Han Solo may still be alive. Ford said:

He's resting... Is he dead? He's resting.

The little tidbit could mean many things. Not only does Ford's statement speculate that he may appear in the future Star Wars installments but it could also mean he's talking about the spin-off that's already in the works, as reported online.
