Harbor Grill Employees Offered New Jobs by Blonder's or Two Weeks of Pay

When one door closes, another one opens. Or in this case, a restaurant door. Harbor Grill employees were given a second chance at work.

A few days ago, Harbor Grill employees were out of a job as Harbor Grill closed down in anticipation of the Annapolis Yacht Club moving into the building. Employees of the restaurant had to be let go. Restaurant managers promised to find work for them at other restaurants.

Now, the ex-Harbor Grill Chef, Jim Wilder, has a new job at Blonder's and is reaching out to employees who were let go that there is a job opportunity.

About twenty Harbor Grill employees were let go when it closed last week and while they are still recovering from the blow, Jim Wilder has been working with the general manager, Ray Tompkins, to contact the twenty former employees that they can get a job in one of Harvey Blonder's restaurants, or get two weeks of pay. He did not name the restaurant but his wife who also worked at Harbor Grill has yet to decide if she'll take the offer.

Blonder said his management team has been trying to reach out to the Harbor Grill staff from the start about open jobs and the pay would be based on what their average pay was before.

Former employees like waitress Brynn Posson, are still unsure if this is the right move for them because of the pay but Blonder wants to assure them..

We're very compassionate toward our employees (but) sometimes people misunderstand things. Everybody gets treated fairly with us. That's the only way we know how to do things.

A former bartender, Timothy Burns, was also offered employment, had declined.

Employees were unhappy about the outcome of Harbor Grill but are still looking at finding jobs on the market with their skill level, reports in Annapolis stated.
