Amber Heard in Talks to Star in 'Aquaman', Actress Starts in 'Justice League'

Amber Heard, actress from Magic Mike XXL and The Danish Girl, is said to be in talks to join Warner Bros.' DC Universe as a character in Aquaman. Her first appearance is to be set in Justice League.

If the deal goes through, Amber Heard will be the female lead in the DC's Aquaman which will also include lead actor Jason Momoa.

The female lead role Heard is said to fill would be Mera. Mera is the love interest of Aquaman who eventually became the queen of Atlantis. She is able to control water which makes her the perfect partner for Aquaman.

Heard will make her initial appearance in the film Justice League, where the movie introduces the various characters associated with the comic universe. The release will formally launch the DC cinematic universe based on the comic characters. The movie is scheduled to start production in April this year and is said to air on November 17, 2017 as the official release date. Aquaman is scheduled to be released, eight months after the movie, on July 27, 2018.

The man manning the director's chair is James Wan and reports have indicated that there are currently two scripts being worked on. David Leslie Johnson is working on one script while Zack Snyder is working on the other. Snyder is directing Justice League and will be producing Aquaman. He is reported to be one of the architects of the movieverse.

Amber Heard is known for her role in 2015's Magic Mike XXL as Zoe and also appeared in the thought provoking drama The Danish Girl as Oola. She has a big role to fill in Aquaman because Mera was ranked as 81st in the Comic Buyer's Guide's 100 Sexiest Women in Comics. And if all goes well, she and Aquaman will fall in love, get married and have a child - the same storyline in the DC-verse.

Heard is represented by WME and Karl Austen at Jackoway Tyerman.
