Blade & Soul, Korean Fantasy Martial Arts MORPG, Launches, Major Updates and Esports Tournaments Coming Soon

NCSoft's fantasy martial arts massive multiplayer online role-playing game is now in North America. Blade & Soul is now live for players to test their kung fu skills.

This is just the beginning. The access to the game is only the first step of the launch. Updates and tournaments will be released throughout the year.

Tournaments held by the publisher include a world championship in one on one and three on three combat. China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan participated in the tournament and a $40,000 prize awaited them. Now, tournaments will be opened to North America. 

The game offers two "epic" difficulty dungeons, called Blackram Supply Chain and East Fleet Supply Chain, for players that reached the level 45 cap. 

These dungeons allows six player normal difficulty settings and a four player hard mode. Not only that, there is also a 24 player mode where groups of players can combine with other teams to make up a larger collection of players which can win fans tokens and prizes. Prizes include character ffeatures such as hairstyles, accessories, outfits and weapons.

The two dungeons are already included in the initial set but in the next few months, more epic dungeons are scheduled to be released. These are:

  • Tower of Mushin - a single player dungeon
  • Bloodshade Harbor - a dungeon that pits the player to fight a pirate admiral
  • Naryu Labyrinth - a twisting dungeon maze
  • Silverfrost Mansion - an expansion where players can do complex clan crafting

A new class will also be released during the year. Warlock class will be added. Its weapons and gears is already in the game. 

NCSoft is going to add North America and Europe to the world championship of Blade & Soul, reports confirmed.

Aside from the game, a Japanese animated television adaptation was also aired in 2014.
