Glenn Frey’s Legacy Remains, His Acting Career From ‘Miami Vice’ to ‘Jerry Maguire’ Remembered

The American singer, songwriter, actor and musician Glenn Frey, co-founder of the Eagles, died on January 18, 2016. He started his career in the 1970's and after the breakup of the band in 1980, he also ventured into acting.

He started his acting career in Miami Vice. He was featured in the television series' first episode titled "Smuggler's Blues". He then had a starring role in Wiseguy, an American crime drama series that aired on CBS. He appeared in the episode titled "Dead Dog Arc". Having a knack for crime drama, he also starred in South of Sunset, a detective series that only aired one episode on CBS in 1993.

Continuing his streak in law and justice, he also appeared on Nash Bridges as a policeman with a teenage daughter that painted the town red with her psychothic boyfriend.

A little bit off the track in 2002, he starred in Arli$$ as a politician.

But that was only his TV acting career. He was also in various films such as Let's Get Harry, in 1986, as a cocaine addict. While he's busy pursuing his solo career and promoting the release of his Top 40 hit songs "Soul Searchin" and "Strange Weather", he also starred in Jerry Maguire, a Cameron Crowe film.

When the Eagles reunited in the early 90's, Frey retired from acting for a while except for a few appearances in Arli$$ and Nash Bridges.

His last acting gig came from the 2013 documentary about the band itself. The documentary film was titled History of the Eagles.

You can say that the man has many talents and aspiring artists can also learn from him. In a way, as online posts remember him, he did not limit himself to singing alone. But he did not neglect his gift of song either. He has learned to use the many abilities he had with the help of people from the industry, supporting him and advising him on how to act.
