Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2: Team Roster, Adds 3 New Characters

This February, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 officially begins production but Marvel fans still do not know what the plot will be. One thing is certain, new cast members are listed.

The filming of the sequel will be at Pinewood Studios Atlanta and its primary focus is set to be the relationships behind the crew. Backstories will be revealed and James Gunn did reveal that the story will be about fathers.

Gunn already mentioned in last year's interview that he will be deviating from the comic book's plot and he also mentioned that it's not a big secret. In the first Guardians movie, Quill, played by Chris Pratt, already had daddy issues. He never knew his father and it was slipped a few times during the movie that his half-blood might be from an almighty race, plus, his father was looking for him.

We still don't know who his father is but his mother did describe him as angelic. Marvel fans who are well versed in the comic book universe already know who he is but it is not yet sure who will play the character.

Another thing Gunn aired out is that he already planned two new additional characters to join the sequel. Who are the three that is slated to join the crew?

Mantis is the newest member. Mantis will be played by Pom Klementeiff. The character is a telepathic martial artist who is said to be an adaptation of Moondragon - Drax's daughter in Marvel Comics.

The other two members are not so new but will definitely show up in the sequel. Yondu, the space pirate ravager who "adopted" Pratt's character will also return as well as Nebula - the adopted sister of Gamora. Nebula is most likely teaming up with her loving sister to settle scores with Thanos.

For now, fans can patiently wait for the movie scheduled to be released on May 5, 2017, as indicated online.
