Have Full Time Job? Talia Jane Says She Cannot Afford Food

Talia Jane's name has gone viral after she penned an open letter about not being able to afford food even though she has a full-time job.

She previously wrote to Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppleman, after getting fired, that her take home of $8.15 an hour is not enough for her to survive on. She explicitly stated that she did not make enough money working a full-time job to buy groceries.

She detailed the bills she had to pay which include utilities and transportation plus other things that made her life hard because she was poor.

Her summary of complaints was then answered by critics pointing ou that her Instagram and Twitter posts shows that she's "living the life."

It is important to understand that most newly employed workers have to start at the bottom and at minimum wage and to make a point and contradict Jane's post, Stefanie Williams decided to pen a letter of her own regarding Jane's work ethic.

"This is about this girl's personal responsibility to be an adult and find a job, or two (God forbid she have to give up a weekend day to be a waitress), an an affordable living situation and an affordable city in which to work," says Williams.

Williams and other Americans may have their opinion on the matter but Dailykos explains that her situation was no differnt from millions of Americans. The website details that the problem is not work ethic but the corporate culture:"The point of Talia Jane's post is that if you are working a full time job, you should be able to afford the basic necessities of life: Food and shelter."

Talia Jane is one of the many people who are in distress because of the rising inequality in the world. Previously, a meeting at Davos called global leaders to come forward and address this issue.
