’Mob Wives’ Star ‘Big Ang’ Celebrates Being Cancer Free In Recent Episode Before Tragic Death

"Mob Wives" cast and crew have recently mourned the loss of one of their most beloved ladies. "Big Ang" died a tragic death due to cancer but before she passed on, she celebrated life being cancer free.

A few months before she passed away, Angela Raiola, also known as "Big Ang", celebrated the fact that she was given another chance to live, cancer free, after beating her battle with throat and lung cancer. "I'm so happy that I'm cancer-free," Raiola, the niece of a New York gangster said.

The "Mob Wives" star appeared to be full of spirits even when the doctor advised her that there is a chance the cancer can come back and spread. She couldn't stop smiling and promised to not take life for granted. She promised that she's not going to be mean or nasty to people.

She was not alone during her battle to cancer. Former spouse Neil Murphy stood by her side until her death bed. In the same "Mob Wives" episode, "Big Ang" explained that she could not have survived without Neil by her side during her painful operations. "He was sleeping on the chair every night," she adds.

In a sad turn of events, her cancer has spread to her other lung and to her brain. She passed away on Feb. 18 at the age of 55.

Everybody turned up, and remembered happy memories of "Big Ang" at the ceremony except for a select few who have been banned.

"Mob Wives" is coming to a close and it will never be the same again without "Big Ang" lighting up the screen. Catch the "Mob Wives" series finale on Wednesday at 8:00 PM ET on VH1.
