Serena Williams News 2016: WTA Champ’s No. 1 Secret Weapon And Return In The Indian Wells

Serena Williams embodies one of the fiercest females in the court. Armed with her grand slam moves and swift style in playing tennis, the WTA ranking number one champ also has another secret weapon when it comes to making her bonafide spirits alive and that's none other than her supportive and also athletic sister- Venus Williams.

Through the years, the tandem of these two powerful athletes are extremely absolute. Not just sharing their fame and stardom in the tennis court but also in their passion for creating fashionable wear for women. These two sisters know how to keep it together even if they are facing the strenuous wire of being sports personalities.

LA Times details that Serena and Venus once again muse together the recent Indian Wells tournament. Serena faced Japan's Kurumi Nara while Venus on the other hand is up against Laura Siegemund of Germany. In 2001, the sisters inevitably shared a rocky situation in the said tournament when they are matched against each other. The issue even grew uglier when Venus "withdrew" herself from the said tournament, reasoning out a knee injury.

The ugly incident just proved that both Williams' sisters stayed in control of the situation and that they are ready to face the tournament again. Serena even shared her own insights regarding their return in the Indian Wells saying,

"It means a lot. We're really excited to be here and I'm excited for her to hopefully have the experience I had last year. And it's the only reason I was able to come back," Serena said from LA Times. "It's really cool. This is kind of where everything started for us. Like I always said, this was such a big event for us early in our careers. I remember we both played qualifying here in '97, '98. A long time ago. It's been a place that for us really has meant a lot and we had that one memory and we both had to get rid of that."

Venus on the other hand also shared how Serena paved the way to heal her inner wounds from the past event mentioning that, "It was in that moment, seeing Serena welcomed with open arms last year at Indian Wells, that I think I fully and truly realized what being the big sister means. It means that, for all of the things I did first, and all of the times when I paved the way for Serena, the thing I can be most proud of is this time, when Serena paved the way for me."
