Nina Dobrev Surprised With ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Confirmation?

Nina Dobrev is reportedly surprised with the confirmation of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.  CDL reported that Nina Dobrev was "stunned" and "disgusted" with "TVD's" renewal for one more season. Apparently, the "Final Girls" star may have wanted the series to fall flat on its face.

The publication noted that Nina Dobrev wanted to get back at Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed by leaving "The Vampire Diaries" after season 6. Her departure, which led to a decline in viewership for the show, seemed to be the best revenge to sabotage her ex-boyfriend's career.

According to Design&Trend, Nina Dobrev is not the only one who is unhappy about "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. Some fans are said to be displeased about The CW's decision to renew the series.

One fan commented that "The Vampire Diaries" should be axed after the upcoming season while "The Originals" should just have two more episodes. Another fan noted that "TVD" should end with season 7.

There are those who are also happy with the renewal. Some also expressed their astonishment at the announcement.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 has taken a hiatus. It will be back on Apr. 1 with episode 16.

The CW has confirmed DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2, "The Flash" season 3, "Arrow" season 5, "Supernatural" season 12, "iZombie" season 3, "Jane the Virgin" season 3, "The 100" season 4 and "Reign" season 4 for their 2016-2017 schedule. "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 and "The Originals" season 4 will also be developed.

It was noted that although it has struggled with its viewership, "The Vampire Diaries" has experience significant improvement in its performance when it was moved to Fridays. "The Originals" has also been doing well in terms of ratings.

There were speculations that "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 is doomed for cancellation. It was believed that this was caused by Nina Dobrev's exit from the show.
