Ross Lynch Wins Big for 'Austin & Ally' at Kids' Choice Awards 2013

Prior to this year's Kids' Choice Awards 2013, Ross Lynch retweeted a hopeful message on Twitter, appealing for votes. The tweet paid off, and he is this year's Favorite TV Actor for his role on Disney's hit show Austin & Ally.

Lynch is a versatile young man from Colorado. In addition to his TV gig, he also spends time performing with his family in the band R5, which includes brothers Riker and Rocky, his sister Rydel and family friend Ellington Ratliff. Rocky jokingly suggested after the awards show that they play football with the blimp-shaped award.

Austin & Ally portrays two young friends who are worlds apart. Austin is extroverted, while Ally is an introvert, but somehow they fall in love after Austin makes them both famous by uploading a music video to the internet.

Ross is a great dancer, and can play piano, drums, guitar, bass and violin, in addition to his singing skills. His real-life musical interests blend perfectly with the theme of his television show.

This year, over 350 million kids voted online to make it a blockbuster year for Nickelodeon. The awards show was held at USC's Galen Center, and featured plenty of stars as well as the ubiquitous green slime that binds everything together.

Other musicians who picked up the coveted blimp-shaped award were Katy Perry, band One Direction and Justin Bieber.

Although Lynch was recognized for his acting, not his musical abilities, perhaps he will pick up an award for his singing in the future? Nothing is impossible at the Kids Choice Awards.
