Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry Updates: Does The Team Have The Depth?

After draining 400 shots, the first NBA player ever to do that, Stephen Curry will be forced to sit on the sidelines while nursing a serious knee injury. It is a disappointing Game 4 finish for the Golden State Warriors guard who led the league in scoring and in a very efficient fashion at that.

But accidents happen especially in a very competitive NBA game. Curry suffered a right knee sprain after he slipped in Sunday's Game 4 playoff games against the Houston Rockets. After going out of the court, he did not come back to the game causing rumors to spread about his ability to be back with the team for the rest of the playoffs.

He told reporters that he is in pain but "will be OK." The point guard also said it's "definitely not his ACL" and that his pain is more in the area of the MCL, according to Henry Wofford of CSN Bay Area.

His knee injury, according to Rosalyn Gold-Onwide also of CSN Bay Area, was not related to his right ankle. It was "an issue of overcompensating," said Curry, as per Gold-Onwide.

With the MVP hurt, where does that leave the rest of the Golden State Warriors? Definitely this situation changes the championship chances of the team. But to what extent?

When he limped to the court before Game 4 halftime, his team could have been thinking about the possibility of playing without their star point guard in trying to catch another title, their second consecutive one.

Curry's injury was diagnosed as a sprained knee. He is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday which will assess its severity and also schedule a timetable for his recovery.

There are still plenty of games to be played, about more than two halves in the playoffs. The Golden State Warriors is leading the Houston Rockets 3 to 1. But can they hold off the Rockets, and go on to another title-seeking route? Keep posted for updates.
