He's been busy working it non-stop. From HBO's "Ballers" to the newly released "Central Intelligence Agency" with Kevin Hart, and currently working on "The Fast and The Furious 8." Now, he's signed on to become the world's first superhero.

This week, he started the week right with an Instagram post by announcing that he's going to play Doc Savage. Iron Man 3's Shane Black will be sitting on the director's chair. If you're not familiar with Doc Savage, Time has it that Doc Savage predates even Superman. He appeared in comic books during the 1930s and was the initial inspiration for Superman. Dwayne Johnson explained that the two characters have similarities. Doc Savage is also named Clark, called the "Man of Bronze" and also hides out in the Arctic "Fortress of Solitude."

In Johnson's social media post, he explained Doc Savage's abilities, saying that he has the capabilities to identify smell from a mile away with his heightened senses. Given his genius intellect, he falls into awkward situations. Dwayne Johnson is excited to play the "weirdo" that has no social graces. Because of the origin of the character, Johnson couldn't wait to start filming.
