Apple CEO Tim Cook Visits Nintendo HQ; Plays 'Super Mario Run' With Apple Device

Apple CEO Tim Cook recently went to Japan to take in some of the country's sights and met with the Nintendo team to play some "Super Mario Run" for the iOS.

It looks like the head honcho of Apple is also mixing some pleasure with business as he is reported to have visited a very popular Japanese shrine in Kyoto. But of course the visit was primarily a good way for Tim Cook to meet Shigeru Miyamoto, the legendary figurehead at Nintendo, and try his hands on their latest collaboration which is "Super Mario Run".

From the looks of Cook's reaction from a photo he posted on twitter, the game is totally going to be amazing. The CEO and new face of Apple is definitely looking like he is having a good time hanging out with the Nintendo team.

"Super Mario Run" was introduced as part of the iPhone 7 launch event on September. It marks the gaming giant's first major foray into the mobile gaming industry which is something it is reluctant to do before the Super Mario Run announcement. The game won't be a traditional Mario experience as it will take full advantage of the touch controls of smartphones as well as altering the gameplay.

The game would be more akin to other mobile creations like "Temple Run" but instead of being in 3d it will be a side-scrolling runner with the popular video game plumber.

The Japan trip is actually just a stop for the Apple CEO, who was in Shenzen, China before visiting Tokyo where the tech giant is planning to open an R&D center by 2017. The facility is going to be used as a headquarters for developing software talent and producing hardware.

Super Mario Run is launching on iOS devices this December.
