What Happens When iPhone 7 Home Button Fails?

In a post of a user named 'iwayne' in MacRumors forum, he revealed that in case this iPhone 7 home button will stop working, the device can detect it and it will give a notification that the phone's home button needs a service and for the meantime while the device can't be carried to an Apple service center, an on-screen home button will appear on the bottom of the screen.

Failing iPhone 7 Home Button

The new home button has no moving parts making it no reason to fail or not to function well just like the problem that user encountered before in the older home buttons that are being housed on the previous generations of Apple iPhone. According to the report of TNW, these MacRumors forum member noticed that the new iPhone 7 has this feature when he charged his device to a source outlet and then it turned off itself. He tried turning it on, but when it was being powered back on, the notification showing the need of the home button to be fixed appeared.

He restarted his phone and the button worked for a moment before "firing 3-4 times in a row" when the button is being pressed. He restarted again his handset but after that, it stopped working already.

As of the time of writing, there is no known reason yet on why the user's iPhone 7 home button stopped working.

Apple to Ditch Home Button Next year

It can be remembered that in the previous report of Bloomberg that was mentioned in the report of 9To5Mac, the iPhone that will be released this 2017 will no longer feature the famous home button.
