Bethesda's Skyrim is making a comeback and covering bases

The latest and critically acclaimed game from Bethesda is set to draw players again into the world of Elder Scrolls with its stunning remastered version this Friday, but it seems this is only the kick-off for more Skyrim to come.

With the reveal trailer of Nintendo's latest video game console, the Nintendo Switch, Skyrim makes a stunning appearance as one of the games featured in the trailers. Bethesda's confirmation of the actual game coming into the Nintendo Switch is yet to be announced. Given the anticipated release of the remastered version of Skyrim, questions still linger as to whether Nintendo Switch will be able to feature all the promises of the remastered version when Skyrim arrives in the Nintendo console.

Skyrim Remastered is set to feature a significant improvement in art and effects, dynamic depth of field as shown in the trailer, and other graphical enhancements. The difference was illustrated in the official trailer for the remastered version as well as a few gameplay features in various conventions. This puts Nintendo Switch's portable gaming feature to the challenge of being able to deliver the graphics both when played on TV and on the smaller portable console alternative, not to mention that Nintendo Switch is shown to be using cartridges for their games. But with Nintendo having announced that Nintendo Switch will be running on Unreal Engine 4, it seems very likely.
On another note, Skyrim is officially also coming to the tabletop games. An officially licensed Monopoly set to feature the world of Skyrim is in development. Monopoly is known to have picked up various iterations of the tabletop game, like HBO's Game of Thrones and Star Wars. The Skyrim Monopoly is due for release March of 2017.
