The world seems to be smaller for the 26-year-old singer-composer Taylor Swift and her estranged friend and fellow singer-songwriter, Katy Perry. Both artists were invited to Canadian rapper-songwriter Drake's 30th birthday party.
With reports from the Huffington Post, upon knowing that the "Rise" singer will attend, Swift was reported to have avoided seeing and talking to a former friend now "straight-up enemy" Perry.
Reports said Swift was supposed to party and mingle with the crowd but when Perry appeared, as well as her former lover, singer John Mayer, Swift swiftly changed plans and remained on her table with her clique.
The two were first seen together at the MTV Video Music Awards back in 2008. Clad in golden outfits, Swift and Perry happily posed on cam with singer-actress Miley Cyrus.
They even attended the Grammys a year later. The two must have clicked a lot considering their similar passion to music and of course, love for cats.
However, certain juicy tweets were posted by both parties which stirred some rumors in the music industry.
From openly expressing their love towards each other, Perry and Swift evolved to posting suspicious tweets. But everything was just rumoring until the "Red" singer's August 2014 interview with the Rolling Stone magazine.
In the interview, the "1989" artist talked about the inspiration of her single, "Bad Blood."
"She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.'
"And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour," Swift continued.
It can be recalled that some of the dancers who performed with Katy Perry for her California Dreams tour in 2011 also auditioned for Swift's Red tour in 2013. And when the "Hot and Cold" singer had her Prismatic tour, she wanted the dancers back. Apparently, it wasn't taken lightly by Swift.
Both the artists have also dated John Mayer. From November 2009 to February 2010, Swift was reported to date the singer briefly. And sometime in 2012, Perry got into the picture and started dating the same singer who's the inspiration of Swift's "Dear John:.
Indeed, the rift between the two hitmakers continues to intensify considering the recent "This is What You Came For" twitter drama.
