‘Sherlock’ Season 4 News, Update: Benedict Cumberbatch To Leave Series? 'Doctor Strange' Starrer To Prioritize Higher Opportunities

Benedict Cumberbatch is back solving crimes in the Season 4 of "Sherlock," after years of hiatus.

There has been rumors that Season 4 will be the final team up of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sherlock and John. Fans were concerned that in the 5th season there will be a new Sherlock.

Mark Gatiss, who plays Mycrot Homes and one of the show's writers, explained that Sherlock will never run without Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. He explained that Cumberbatch will remain as Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming seasons, Parent Herald reported.

Cumberbatch explained that "Sherlock Season 4" will be more approachable and people oriented in this season. He will be more human and affections like a normal human being that he lacks during the first season.

He said that he was influenced by John to interact with people. He said that Sherlock has now a better understanding of the world, a previous report states.

Cumberbatch explained that fans will like this fourth season because it ties up with the last season. He explained that the fans of the show will not regret the hiatus at all, they will find it beneficial for the story flow.

The creators of the show later confirmed that there will be ghost of the past that will hunt the lives of Sherlock and John. They explained that this is the story they were trying to tell from the beginning, it's about to reach its climax, University Herald reported.

They explained that there will be a new villain in the show named Culverton Smith, played by Toby Jones. In the book, Culverton Smith tried to kill Sherlock with a deadly tropical illness in The Dying Detective.

"Sherlock" Season 4 will have three episodes ones again, Six Tatchers, Lying Detective and an episode that fans believe would be the Sherrinford episode. Sherlock will be a New Year's day present for the fans at it shows on January 1, 2017.
