Are We Prepared For World War 3?

To say the least, with the powerful arsenal of weapons of superpowers like the United States of America, Russia and China. One may think that they are poised for any attack and retaliation, but is the world really prepared for it?

But is the world ever prepared for the consequences of war, especially its effect on countries that are not capable of protecting their countries from the ravages of a destructive war. Russia, based on recent intelligence reports have been believed to be beefing up their arsenal with ballistic missiles that can be armed with nuclear warheads.

Only a couple of weeks back, the threat of a nuclear war erupting has been raising concerns, similar to what defense analysts were comparing to the same threat levels, even bigger, than the Cuban missile crisis decades back. But in the face of these impending threats lie the fear of many nations that are not prepared for war. The threat of war affecting these countries could be truly devastating, both in the economic and defense capabilities or the lack of it.

Among the biggest casualties that are projected to cause the most damage are to children, women and the elderly-who may not be able to bear the pressures and violence of war. It can be assumed that by this time, these large nations may be in the process of seeking alliances to strengthen their armed forces, however, wars regardless of its magnitude can also be catastrophic to these very nations that are capable of igniting it.

Unless a more solid stance is taken to campaign for peace, there will always be that fear that will cause people to shudder at the thought of a war. Countries are either getting mixed o wrong signals that make them perceive it might aggressive moves to suspect the fear of an attack, retaliatory measures are also being planned to counter it.

A stronger campaign is needed to promote peace instead of threats, then can the world only be assured of promoting peace from all fronts. So, is the world prepared to go to war? It may still be far from it.
