The Grammy Awards 2017: Beyoncé Dominates 9 Nominations With “Lemonade”

Beyoncé, the 20-time Grammy award singer, still tops this year's Grammy Awards 2017 with her album "Lemonade."

Beyoncé picked up nine Grammy nominations in various categories, with her album hit "Lemonade" including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year. "Lemonade," having nominations in Pop, Rap/Sung, Rock, and Urban Contemporary categories, also maked Queen B the first artist to be nominated in four different genre categories in the same year, according to Pitchfork.

She was looking forward to a country category as well. She submitted "Daddy Lessons" but sadly the Recording Academy's country music committee rejected it.

Following her with eight nominations each is Drake, Kanye West and Rihanna. Album of the Year category (the awards' most prestigious) features her, Adele, Drake, Justin Bieber, and alternative country artist Sturgill Simpson.

After her performance on Super Bowl this year, her song "Formation," instantly got fame and popularity. "Formation" takes on her nomination for Record of the Year. Against her is British pop singer Adele with her album "25" with her global hit "Hello." Both artists were nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year. That makes them both to reign this year's Grammy Awards.

Record of the Year
"Hello," by Adele, "Formation" by Beyoncé,"7 Years" by Lukas Graham, "Work" by Rihanna featuring Drake and "Stressed Out" by Twenty One Pilots.

Song of the Year
Beyoncé's "Formation," Adele's "Hello," Mike Posner's "I Took a Pill in Ibiza," Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" and Lukas Graham's "7 Years".

Album of the Year
Adele's "25," Beyoncé's "Lemonade," Drake's "Views," Justin Bieber 's "Purpose" and Sturgill Simpson's " A Sailor's Guide to Earth."

Beyoncé with nine categories this year, makes her the most nominated female artist in history. Totaling to 62 Grammy categories in her whole career.

Hosted by James Corden, everyone will witness the Grammy Awards to be held at Staples Center in Los Angeles to air live on Feb. 12.
