Bryan Cranston will play Lex Luthor in the next 'Man of Steel' installment in 2015, Cosmic Book News reported earlier today.

The 'Breaking Bad' star Bryan Cranston - playing Walter White in the said hit series, which is to end its 6th season on September - had reportedly been casted as Lex Luthor, the nemesis of the six DC Comics franchise films, for 'Batman Vs. Superman.'

The announcement and confirmation of the rumor just came days after Ben Affleck had been confirmed to act as Batman in the 2015 movie.

It can be noted that Ben Affleck's confirmation to play the role sparked some raging reviews and comments from fans, saying that the role needs to be recasted.

Nevertheless, the addition of Bryan Cranston into the scene, did not seem to cause another stir, but appease all the fans, knowing how well the three-time Emmy winner has portrayed his 'Breaking Bad' character Walter White.

Bryan Cranston and the producers have not yet announced with the actor had already accepted his role for the film.

If ever Cranston accepted the project, he would be in line with the sensational Superman movie nemesis including Kevin Spacey and Gene Hackman. Spacey is allegedly a competitor of Bryan Cranston for the Best Actor in Drama category through his movie 'House of Cards'.

'Batman Vs. Superman' director Zack Snyder has confirmed earlier that the movie will feature a superhero face-off between the two biggest super hero names in the earth.

Henry Cavill is to reprise his role as Superman in this second installment of the 'Man Of Steel' series of movies.

Some of the fans who heard the news about Bryan Cranston's alleged portrayal of Lex Luthor took it on Twitter and shared their thoughts on the issue.

"Walter White can stand toe-to-toe with the Dark Knight and Superman :)," Paul N. Carlson added.

Lisa Jackson on the other hand said, "Reserving judgment on the Bryan Cranston playing Lex Luthor rumor until it's official. In a way though, I'm not sure it's a good idea."

Finally, an Ashley Chaffin had taken this new casting news positively, saying, "I'm instantly more interested in this movie."
