NBA Trade Rumors: Dallas Mavericks Could Trade Former Warrior Andrew Bogut To The Cleveland Cavaliers

The Dallas Mavericks acquired Andrew Bogut from the Golden State Warriors in the offseason with high hopes of becoming a top contending team this year. But it appears it's not going well for the Mavericks being ranked last in the Western Conference. NBA trade rumors are now circling the former Warrior if he would be traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

ESPN reported that the Warriors gave Bogut the option to go to the Dallas Mavericks or the Houston Rockets in the offseason. The Warriors thought that the Mavericks could be a team that would have a big chance of becoming a playoff team. But it's the total opposite of what they have hoped for because the Mavericks are 4-17 this season.

Currently, NBA trade rumors have it that there are lots of teams interested in Bogut and the Boston Celtics could be a possible team for him to go to. But the Cavaliers might be a better option since they have a much better chance of getting into the playoffs and even go back to the finals.

According to CBS Sports, the Cavaliers might be a perfect spot for Bogut. A deal that would involve Iman Shumpert and a future draft pick is possible since the Cavs have no problems of trading its future picks. The franchise has already traded one of its draft picks in 2018.

The Cavs are not bad on defense but they might need more help in the frontcourt since Channing Frye and Kevin Love are stretch forwards. Bogut can add more size to the Cavaliers frontcourt that could pass and set screens as well.

Shumpert has been linked to NBA trade rumors since the 2016-2017 NBA season began so a trade between the Mavericks and Cavaliers isn't far from happening. It would be a good deal for both teams and the Mavericks could be looking to rebuild anytime soon having young players like Shumpert and Harrison Barnes.

The trade market would start anytime soon and these NBA trade rumors could be happening in a few weeks. It would be interesting to see Bogut, a former Warrior, play for the Cavaliers.
