'Elementary’ Season 5 Recap & Rumor: Shinwell In Hot Water Last Episode; CBS Series Cancelled?

Shinwell needs the help of Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson on a crime he did not commit in the 9th episode of "Elementary" titled "It Serves You Right To Suffer." "Elementary" Season 5 might be the last season for CBS' Sherlock Holmes series.

The problem started when Shinwell met with an old gang member, violating his parole. He still went through his plan despite Joan Watson warning him about the possible consequences of his action.

According to Travelers Today, this led to the events in the 9th episode of "Elementary" Season 5. In the episode, Shinwell was framed for killing one of his gang members. The duo has three days to find the real killer before Shinwell gets arrested.

By the end of the episode, Holmes did not manage to catch the real culprit but he gave Shinwell another chance by erasing his finger prints. It may not be a successful episode for Holmes. But this is still a challenging episode because of what they are racing through time, the site reported.

Meanwhile, there has been rumors circulating that this is the last straw of the series because of its plummeting rating. Parent Herald reported that "Elementary" Season 5 is not doing well when it comes to ratings, ranking 0.73 rating in the 18-49 demographics.

"It scored 0.03 in the renew and cancel index of CBS network. This shows that there is a small chance that "Elementary" Season 5 will be renewed for Season 6," they reported.

"This is a bad news for fans of the show, if this continues they would have to say goodbye to "Elementary." The show had a significant drop in ratings last season were it only received an average of 1.03 rating," the site stressed.

This is not the only Sherlock Holmes series that is field of rumors. Jobs & Hire reported that Tom Hiddleston might appear in BBC's "Sherlock" when it return on January 1, 2017.

To date, there has been no confirmation from CBS if "Elementary" Season 5 will be the last season for the show. This makes this cancellation rumor just another rumor.
