On Sunday, Fifth Harmony announced via twitter that Camila inform them of her leaving the group through her representatives but they still wished her well. Fans later claimed that the group unfollowed Camila on Twitter.
According to Mirror UK,Camila quits the day her "contract expired", the announcement was made after Fifth Harmony's last Jingle Ball performance on Sunday, December 18. However, Camila said in a twitter statement that she did not say goodbye to the girls via her representatives.She said they had conversations about her moving on to a solo career for months now. She added that as she moves on to a new chapter in her life, she will always be grateful to her former band members.
The 19-year old singer released solo tracks with Shawn Mendes and Machine Gun Kelly. Many reports claimed that a feud between the girls started six months ago. The Sun UK reported that the feud started at Canada's Much Music Video Awards in June. Fifth Harmony won two awards for Most Buzzworthy International Artist Or Group and Fan Fave International Artist Or Group.
Camilla also got two solo awards for her collaboration with Shawn Mendes. Camila's manager later said that the four awards belong to Camila. Lauren's mother was upset and fought back on twitter.
In an interview with the Music Buzz back in September, Simon Cowell, who formed the group said, "They are the same as any other group. We have conversations about what they want to do. We gotta listen to them. It'll be fine I hope."
Fifth Harmony later tweeted that there were no lengthy conversations as they were asking Camila's team for at least one more album before she quits but they got rejected. They said they didn't want to end things this way. They tried so hard to contact Camila and her team and they were truly hurt on how Camila handled the separation. They ended the statement by saying that they made their peace and will keep moving forward.
The band will perform for the first time without Camila in New York at New Year's Eve.Fans are hoping for a reconciliation among the girls and that t this is just a temporary misunderstanding. After all, they started their journey together like real sisters.They had a strong and genuine relationship back in 2012 at the X Factor USA season 2.
