Pia Zadora Narrowly Escapes Jail For Assaulting Son With Water Hose; To Enter Counseling [VIDEO & REPORT]

Singer-actress Pia Zadora has been ordered by a judge last Thursday, September 12, to attend and complete counseling for alcohol dependency and impulse control. An attorney for the entertainer appeared in court for her behalf on Wednesday, accepting a lighter sentence, meaning Zadora would have to stay away from trouble for a month or be jailed.

Pia Zadora had been charged last May with "domestic abuse" and "coercion," after she had reportedly attacked her teenage son with a water hose in an attempt to get him to bed, and grabbed the phone from the sixteen year old as he called 911 for help. Things had escalated to a point where a SWAT team had to be called in, a shocking turn to the otherwise 'domestic' feud, notwithstanding the fact that she has been married to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Detective.

Police have said that the scuffle began when Zadora hosed down her son as he refused to go to bed, and that she had been tired.

Zadora had been told by a Las Vegas judge that she could possibly face 30 days of jail time for failure to seek help and comply with the terms for agreement.

Zadora is set to begin performing at "Pia's Palace" on weekends, as the restaurant reps report on Friday.

A former Broadway child actress (starring on Fiddler on the Roof in the 1960s), she won a Golden Globe award for starring alongside Orson Welles in Butterfly, a 1981 film. In 1984 she was nominated for a Grammy Award for her song Rock It Out.

She has gained some notoriety for being constantly honored by the Razzies Awards, a spoof of the Academy Awards, wherein the worst performances are commended, and awards given to the lousiest movies. Zadora won "Worst New Star of the Decade" in 1990.
