About 4,000 jobs are available in the regional job fair being hosted by the Alabama Department of Labor. Various employers from different fields such as avionics, education, and engineering are present.
The Alabama Department of Labor's regional job fair gives thousands of people the opportunity to find employment or change careers, reports AL.com. It is the first regional job fair in North Alabama, according to Fitzgerald Washington, the Department of Labor Secretary in Alabama.
There is no fee required to join the job fair, writes AL.com. However, interested individuals must register on the Department of Labor's website or on-site on the day of the event.
The Department of Labor's spokesperson Tara Hutchison shared that over 2,000 people have already pre-registered. Furthermore, around 160 employers from a diverse set of sectors such as avionics, banking, engineering, hospitality, and education will be looking for new hires.
According to Washington, the department has been strategic in coming up with different ways to recruit employers that will provide people with work and career opportunities, reports Waff 48, which is collaborating with the career division of the Department of Labor for the event. Some of the mentioned employers are Polaris, Home Depot, Regions Bank, Tydedyne, and GE Aviation, writes AL.com.
Moreover, Washington shared that all of the firms that are part of the regional job fair have positions to fill. That was a requirement to join the job fair.
It is held at the Von Braun Center, Tuesday, March 21. It starts from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Job interviews will also be conducted on site. Applicants are kindly asked to dress professionally, bring multiple copies of their resumes, and prepare for the interviews.
