Eric Spofford has an absolutely remarkable story. He dropped out of school in the tenth grade, as he was actively battling an opioid addiction. His battle with addiction went on for 7 years, until he eventually found recovery at age 22.

Once he found recovery, he knew he wanted to turn his pain into a purpose. In 2008 he did just that by founding Granite Recovery Centers, an addiction treatment business focused on providing a full spectrum of care.

Granite Recovery Centers started as a small sober living home in New Hampshire. Over the course of 13 years, Eric scaled the business to one of the largest addiction treatment businesses on the east coast, with 15 facilities. Eric worked 12 - 16 hour days, 7 days a week, to accomplish this feat.

In addition to hard work, he was able to scale the business through self-motivation and continuous self-education. He says one of the greatest keys to his success is his ability to think outside the box and implement creative solutions.

He sold Granite Recovery Centers last year for over 9 figures to a private equity-backed strategic buyer. Now 37 years old, Eric is the founder and CEO of Spofford Enterprises where he focuses on venture capital investments, manages a mid 9 figure real estate portfolio, and coaches entrepreneurs on how to scale their businesses and be the best version of themselves.

Eric Spofford is a living example of how a person can beat even the most challenging odds if you are willing to put forth the effort. His immense desire to succeed and formidable persistence turned his life around and showed others they could do the same.

Eric's advice to others is that the road to success is not easy, nor is it supposed to be easy. You have to prepare yourself to work hard to achieve anything of value.
