Connecticut- While the Obama Administration confirmed their stand with regards to marijuana legalization, where the President clearly made it known that cannabis to be legalize is not helpful to the economy, still cannabis therapeutic benefits can be enjoy through Medical Marijuana Program by the Department of Consumer Protection of Connecticut.
The said program requires the candidate to pass the requirement, which is based on Connecticut's General Statutes, Chapter 420, Section 21a- 408.
The Medical Marijuana Program's criteria includes: at least 18 years old, resident of Connecticut and someone who receives a treatment for a dilapidating condition.
Interested candidates for the said program may visit their website at www.ct.gov/dcp/mmp , and may apply online.
The online registration includes three steps to follow. To start the application, the candidate must know that their physicians are the one who will initiate the process by logging to a secure computer system, and recommend the patient for certification.
The second step involves the patient filling up some information in the computer. This can be done only if the physician is done with the certification process.
However in case that the certification needs a witness such as a caregiver, or anyone in the medical team, the witness may log in to the computer system to complete the process of application certification.
"We are dealing with this program for quite some time, and so far it is a great help", Dr. Escueta of Medical Hospital Connecticut said.
According to Connecticut Research Lab Department, the Medical Marijuana Program becomes an option of treatment, especially to those who are suffering from a disease that requires marijuana intervention.
Also it becomes an option for treatment for those who can't afford to undergo an expensive therapy, in which marijuana is capable of treating with.
