Washington and Colorado Wants Banking Regulation To Include Marijuana Transactions

Washington- Governor in Colorado and Washington wants banking policies to reconsider marijuana banking transactions. In an event where guest are mostly from cannabis producer sector, medical marijuana sale, and other business marijuana sector expressed their desire to have legal banking exchange for the benefits of everyone.

In fact last Wednesday, Governor Jay Inslee and of Washington and Gov. John Hickenlooper wrote a letter to the Federal Banking Regulators to at least allow the marijuana growers to have a legal banking deal so that they can manage the cannabis fund well, as it is secure in the bank.

"If the money will be invest in the bank, then its security will be increase as it needs authorization before it can be withdrawn", Andrew Wolf, Leader of Marijuana Farmers Colorado.

The said letter was sent to the Secretary of the Treasury, Jacob Lew who said that they will see what they can do to help the marijuana industry.

Notable persons in the banking industry such as Ben Bernanke who is Chairman of the Board of Governor of Federal Reserve, Martin Gruenberg who is the Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Thomas Curry, Comptroller of the Currency in the Office of the Comptroller.

"As much as we want to address the needs of the cannabis growers but, we also have to reconsider other banking sector, as they will also be affected if we will act upon the request". Richard Cordray said, Chairman of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He also added that before the said request will be fully implemented, coordination among other banking industry must be done first, as monetary transaction is interconnected.

"Banking transaction is needed among marijuana growers as it is a necessary component for progress", Andrew Wolf said.
