Meg Ryan's friend shared, "Los Angeles is just about movies. New York is about so much more than that, and so is Meg.

The Sleepless in Seattle actress was rarely seen in front of the camera for the past decade. Meg Ryan has chosen to move away from the limelight and settled in her home in Manhattan, where she stays with her eight-year old daughter Daisy - the child she adopted from China.

Once dubbed as "America's Sweetheart", she tries her very best to blend with the crowd and not be noticed. She is currently in a relationship with 61-year old rocker John Mellencamp.

Meg Ryan used to be the heart and soul of romantic comedy before there was Emma Stone. Her pretty face and one-of-a-kind wit made her a real deal Hollywood sensation.

The total earnings of her movies grossed to over $850 million in box office. Meg Ryan was extremely loved for classic romantic comedy movies. Her breakthrough came when she played Sally Albright in the hit flick When Harry Met Sally. Billy Crystal was his leading man.

Meg Ryan tasted another phenomenal success when she was paired with Tom Hanks in the movie Sleepless in Seattle. Who did not fall in love with Annie Reed, the fun-loving radio disc jockey? Who could forget the famous Empire State Building scene?

Meg Ryan married comedy actor and director Dennis Quaid in 1991. They divorced after 10 years of marriage. They have a son, Jack Henry Quaid, 21 years old and is slowly making a name for himself as an actor. He played Marvel in the blockbuster movie, The Hunger Games. He was Katniss' third kill.
