A British woman found Brazilian wandering spiders, one of the world's most venomous types, in a bunch of bananas she bought at the supermarket.
Consi Taylor, 29, was trying to eat a banana when suddenly she noticed her hand was full of strange spots. When she looked closer and realized that each spot was "walking", she dropped the banana and ran scared.
When one of her friends returned to the kitchen and picked up one of the banana bunches, he noticed a small white silky spider nest with lots of tiny spiders. Afterward, he took a photo and sent it to pest control experts.
They were told the spiders were suspected to be Brazilian wandering spiders, whose bite can kill within two hours and whose female species can grow to have a leg span of 6 inches.
Consi and her husband Richard, 37, had to spend three nights in a hotel room with their kids, until their house was full-fumigated.
The couple bought the fruit in Sainsbury, which paid £2,800 for the inconvenience, and ate almost a half until she noticed the spiders.
According to the Guinness World Records lists, the species venom is said to be 30 times more powerful than that of a rattlesnake.
