Crack Cocaine Scandal Shakes Up Toronto Mayor: Public Urges Crack-Pack Mayor to Lay Off the Rock

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford hasn't been able to shake the speculation of a video that captures his crack smoking. One zany and notorious politician, Ford has a real track record of interesting behavior. Past headlines have reported him fisting his dukes at a reporter, placing an emergency call when he spotted someone in his driveway and even flipping off citizens when driving and talking on his cell phone. However, activity such as smoking with a crack-pack just wouldn't seem to smolder away; and for good reason!

Earlier this summer, Mayor Ford faced accusations of smoking crack cocaine when reporters from the Toronto Star publicized watching a low resolution video possibly made by a cell phone. There are even reported efforts that the video was up for sale to the highest bidder.

After stating the absurdity of it all and going underground for a week, Ford then called for a press conference where he outright denied the claims as well as claiming to be unaware of any police investigation and interaction. After his "resting period", heads began to roll as he fired several key staff members from his administration.

Despite angry citizens and anti-crack crowd's protesting for the Mayor's resignation, Ford robustly refused, asserting that he would not resign or even speak about a video that's existence cannot be proven. His "city business like always" and "make no apology" mentality was at the forefront of the summer scandal.

Fast forward to this week and the Mayor of Toronto's tune has changed now that the "MIA" video has surfaced. Released by the Toronto Star, the video of Mayor Ford's raging tirade to rumble and kill some guy is rather undeniable. The behavior and bad language is not only offensive, it could be borderline "first-degree murder" in "five minutes," according to Mayor Ford's own words.

On Tuesday, Ford finally confronted his crack demons and confessed using (a year ago) while drunk to the public. Ford insists that he is not an addict.

Although the public has protested for his resignation from office, Ford is pressing forward with his re-election efforts.

The people of Toronto will determine the fate of another term for Ford next year. But honestly, will voters decide if Mayor Ford is all he's "cracked" up to be?
