President Obama Apologizes For "Misleading" Americans Who Lost Health Insurance Plans

President Barack Obama apologized to American people Thursday night who were forced off their health insurance plans by the Affordable Care Act, after amid criticism America started to blame Obama for misleading people about the new law.

During an interview for NBC News, Obama said that despite his assurances, he didn't do enough to prevent Government from rejecting people because they don't meet law's new coverage requirements.

"I am sorry that they, you know, are finding themselves in this situation, based on assurances they got from me," he said. "We've got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and that we're going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this."

President Obama asked his team to see whether there was "something they could do to close some holes and gaps in the law".

"Because, you know, my intention is to lift up and make sure the insurance that people buy is effective, that it's actually going to deliver what they think they are purchasing," he added.

For many years, Obama has repeatedly said that Americans who were happy with their health insurance plans could keep them even after the Affordable Health Act took full effect.

Nevertheless, hundreds of thousands of people across the country, began receiving letter of cancellation from their insurance companies.
