Jason Kidd Fined $50K by NBA for Epic Fail Alibi on Spilled Soda on Court During Nets Vs. Lakers Game [+VIDEO REPORT]

Jason Kidd was fined $50K by the NBA for spilling soda on court after footage revealed that Kidd intentionally spilled his soda during his team's game against the winning Lakers Wednesday night.

ESPN reported that Jason Kidd may have fabricated some truths after the on-court incident, but a clear evidence was spotted by the NBA in raw footage clips on what really happened that night. In the video clip, Kidd, who appears to be holding a cup of soda, can be seen uttering "hot me" to his point guard Tyshawn Taylor with just 8.3 seconds left in the game. Analysts claim that Kidd spilled his soda to make an interruption during the game so that his team could at least draw up a last-second offensive play, given the 96-94 score in favor of the Lakers.

Many claim that it was pretty obvious how Taylor intentionally approached his coach near the sideline to make contact and a believable collision that led Jason Kidd to spilling his soda on to the court.

It can be noted that while the mess was being cleaned up, the coaching staff resorted to draw up a last-second play. Taylor was then removed from the game and forward Mizra Teletovic was requested to play.

However, Lakers guard Judie Meeks secured his team's victory with a second free through ending the game at 99-94 in favor of the Lakers.

When asked about his explanation on the spilled soda accident, Jason Kidd simply said, "Cup slipped out of my hand while I was getting Ty... Sweaty palms. I was never good with the ball." Then Kidd added, "In the heat of the battle, you're trying to get guys in and out of the game, and the cup fell out of my hand."

On the other hand, although the video replays clearly show Kidd telling Taylor to "Hit me!" the player denied everything, saying, "No [Kidd didn't say that]. I wasn't paying attention. I just kind of bumped him. I didn't even know he was holding [anything]. [But] coach was drinking a soda on the sideline. I was like, 'What's he doing?' It could ice a free throw shooter and be a timeout when you don't have one, but that wasn't the thought process. I was just coming out, and he was in my way. 'Coach, get out of my way, bro.'"

Nonetheless, the NBA league firmly decided to fine Jason Kidd with $50,000 for using a loophole in the rules to force a stoppage during the game.

"The NBA will fine Nets coach Jason Kidd $50,000 for his stunt with the dropped cup in loss to Lakers, league sources tell Yahoo," Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted after the game.

It can be noted that Jason Kidd was also involved in a trick to prompt a stoppage during a game while he was still with the Dallas Mavericks. He made contact with Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Woodson while the point guard was dribbling up the sideline. There were also evidence to prove that Kidd was the one who initiated the contact that time, but he simply shoved it of claiming that it was Woodson who impeded his progress down court
