Many have come across a news report that claims the Academy Award-nominee actor, who is famous for playing Haymitch Abernathy in the "Hunger Games" trilogy, has passed away in a vehicular crash. The report is so detailed that it may appear too believable. "Actor Woody Harrelson died in a single vehicle crash between Ipswich and Willowbank in Queensland as confirmed by Royal Queensland Police," the report says.

The site claims that the vehicular crash that took Woody Harrelson's life happened at around 5:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT+10) today. Additionally, the report, which is already making rounds on social media, also claims that Harrelson was apparently in the area of the accident for a vacation. Police allegedly identified him through a photo ID found at the scene. The report also claimed that "alcohol and drugs" did not appear to be a factor of the vehicular accident.

At the end of the article, there is even a caveat about the said highway where Woody Harrelson allegedly passed away. "The Ipswich - Willowbank connector highway is known to be one of the most dangerous stretches of road in Australia due to road quality conditions and tight curves in the road."

Because the report contains sufficient details, many were compelled to believe it right away. Multiple sources even cited that a lot of people bought the death hoax and instantly shared it on their social media accounts, leading for the hoax to get more attention.

However, it was found out that Global Associated News is a site that creates or generates fake news. If one even takes time to read the message at the bottom of the report, one can see a notice that says: "FAKE... THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes!"

Although Woody Harrelson is perfectly fine at the moment, many fans have already expressed their condolences and sympathy to his family on their Twitter accounts. Still a few others took the time to verify whether this news is true and they began to raise their questions online as well.

"Woody Harrelson dead? Is this another death hoax?"

"RIP Woody Herrelson.. not! What in the world is going on? Please stop with this string of alleged deaths."

"Is Woody Harrelson of the HUNGER GAMES really dead?"

Global Associated News is a generator that creates death hoaxes. It has produced a lot of celebrity death reports within this year. Some of the Hollywood actors who reportedly died this year because of a death hoax from this site includes: Nicholas Cage, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, and Denzel Washington.
