Michael Schumacher's Death Headlines Were Products of Circulating Hoax, Formula 1 Legend Still Alive

Michael Schumacher's death made headlines this past week, and many were pretty much in a state of shock after reading about the demise of the Formula 1 Legend. But, as it turns out, news about Schumacher's death was simply a product of circulating hoaxes.

While Global Associated News is the primary culprit behind the circulating death hoaxes in 2013, Michael Schumacher's unexpected death report was first spotted on social media. Because of these, fans who were busy checking their feeds may have stumbled upon this faux news.

Yahoo! News reported that a Facebook fan page named "R.I.P. Michael Schumacher" has gained nearly 20,000 likes after boldly stating that the seven-time Formula 1 world champ unfortunately died.

Additionally, the International Business Times also pointed out another Facebook fan page titled "RIP Michael Schumacher 1969-2014" to have spread false information about the racer's demise.

Several news sites also reported about the famous racer's death brought about by a skiing accident since it was quickly gaining a lot of attention online.

However, after it was clarified that the 44-year-old is still alive after a recent accident where he was admitted to the University Hospital of Grenoble afterwards, many fans and people who read the news began to express their anger at the circulating hoaxes and reports.

"WTF is wrong with people starting RIP #Schumacher pages on Facebook? Seriously, just for likes?? #SchumiGetWellSoon," AvestaLive wrote.

"Facebook is doing *nothing* against pages/communities etc. named "RIP Michael Schumacher". *Nothing*," CEASquadraCorse posted.

Meanwhile Schumacher's agent Sabine Kehm said in a statement released by the hospital, "He suffered head trauma with coma that needed prompt neurosurgical treatment. He remains in a critical condition."

Michaek Schumacher joins the long list of celebrities who reportedly died due to false reports or celebrity death hoaxes. Some of the famous personalities who allegedly died before the year ended include: Celine Dion, Cher, Robert Pattinson, Justin Bieber, Adele, Tom Hanks, Chris Brown, and many more.
