Jerry Maren, The Only Surviving 'Wizard Of Oz' Munchkin, Still Sings Lollipop Guild To Remember Time in Oz- The Film Never Dies

The death of Ruth Robinson Duccini, a female Munchkin in one of the most world's famous film of all time 'The Wizard of Oz', left Jerry Maren as the only surviving munchkin.

Born in 1920, he acted a Munchkin in his first movie The Wizard of Oz. Maren left his mark in the film as the middle member of the Lollipop Guild who presented a giant lollipop directly to Dorothy after singing the song "We represent the Lollipop Guild/And we welcome you to Munchkinland,". The scene remains as the most memorable moment in the heart of those who have loved the films all over the world. Maren appears to be one of the most cherished Munchkins among "Oz" fans.

Though participating in many other shows, Maren admitted that the "Oz" has "takes people's breath away" because they remember it wherever he goes. Commenting on what made him be the one who handed Dorothy the liloopop, Maren said to Yahoo Movies "Well, I looked pretty good and I could sing and I could dance so they says well we're safe with him, you know," Actor and actress played The Wizard of Oz may pass as a result of time. Yet the film never dies. "The Wizard of Oz: An IMAX 3D Experience" opened for a one-week limited run on September last year.
