NY Knicks Trade Rumors: Carmelo Anthony Will Leave New York, Says NBA Players And Coaches

Carmelo Anthony has been showing signs of frustrations in the past few weeks, and there is already a growing concern among Knicks fans that their superstar will leave New York via free agency next summer.

Anthony recently hit his teammates for their lack of effort after absorbing a humiliating 103-80 loss to their rival Brooklyn Nets on Monday in a game wherein the All-Star forward looked like a star that is ready to explode anytime in frustration.

"That's the only thing that kind of bothers me: today we didn't even fight," Anthony said after their blowout loss. "I felt like we didn't fight as a team. Those guys from the jump ball just came in and it felt like they owned us."

With his frustrations growing, speculations indicated that the 29-year-old forward will strongly consider signing with a new team this summer.

Frank Isola of the NY Daily News reported that even the majority of NBA players and coaches that he talked to about Anthony's situation are convinced that the 11-year-veteran superstar will leave New York this summer.

Anthony could get $30 million more than what he can get from other teams should he decide to return to the Knicks, but sources believe that money will not be a factor when the former Syracuse standout makes his much-awaited free agency decision in the offseason.

"The general feeling among NBA players and coaches is that Anthony will walk, even if it means leaving $30 million on the table. LeBron James took less money to secure a championship future in Miami and Anthony has already been quoted this season as saying that James was "smart" to make such a move," the NY Daily News reported.

Previous reports indicated that Anthony wants to play in a big-market team, while also having a good chance of securing his first NBA title.

Sources said that Anthony is interested in signing with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Los Angeles Clippers in the offseason.

The Lakers and the Clippers have yet to talk about their future plans, while the Bulls will allegedly make a strong push for Anthony or LeBron James this summer as suggested by previous reports.
