Chicago Bulls Rumors: Derrick Rose Could Return In March Or April, Carlos Boozer Frustrated With Playing Time

Derrick Rose was initially ruled out for the remainder of the season, but the superstar point guard himself said that he could still return this season.

The Chicago Sun-Times also reported that Rose has been doing well in his rehabilitation following a surgery that repaired a torn meniscus in his right knee he sustained earlier in the season.

According to the report, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau revealed that the former Most Valuable Player is ahead of his schedule. When asked about a possible return timetable, Thibodeau said that nothing is set in stone as of now, but he revealed that Rose could start practicing again with the Bulls later in the regular season,

"I don't want to jump to any conclusions, just going step-by-step," Thibodeau said. "When he handles the next phase, then they'll move him on to the next one. Just make sure he's completely healthy, that's all we're thinking about. He can shoot, he's doing some jogging on a treadmill, he's coming along."

Rose made his return from a one-season layoff due to an ACL injury in his left knee he sustained during the 2012 Playoffs, but his return was cut short after hurting his right knee in November.

After the reconstructive surgery in November, the Bulls announced that Rose will miss the rest of the 2013-14 NBA season, but the five-year veteran made an announcement that he will consider returning to the Bulls if they advance to the playoffs.

Carlos Boozer Criticizes Tom Thibodeau

Meanwhile, a tension is brewing inside the locker room of the Bulls after veteran power forward aired his frustration over his lack playing time during the fourth quarters of their past few games.

"It's very frustrating, especially when I've got a great game going or what have you. Obviously as a competitor, you want to be out there to help your team win and especially when the game is close. You can do things that can help your team win. Not being out there, all you could do is really cheer them on," Boozer lamented.

Boozer, who could be released by the Bulls using their amnesty clause, is averaging 14.8 points and 8.5 rebounds in 29.8 minutes per game this season. His playing time this year is down from 32.2 minutes per game last season.
