The Ultimate Fighting Championship completely lost all the patience they have for Thiago Silva as the promotional outfit terminated the contract of the Brazilian after getting into another trouble.
According to reports, UFC ended their partnership with Silva after he was arrested on Thursday following an armed standoff in a mixed martial arts school in Florida.
TMZ reported that 31-year-old Brazilian angrily went at Pablo Popovitch's mixed martial arts academy and threatened to break into the facility.
Sources said that Silva was confronted by his wife, Thaysa, but the UFC light heavyweight campaigner said that he wants to see Popovitch and if he does not go out of the gym, he will break into the facility and would shoot all the people inside the school.
Popovitch reportedly went out of the gym to meet Silva, but Popovitch raced inside the gym again after Silva threatened to kill him and Thaysa. Popovitch called 911, but Silva quickly flee and went back to his nearby home, but was later apprehended following a standoff with a SWAT team.
Sources also informed the authorities that the incident that happened on Thursday stemmed from a recent altercation between the couple after Silva accused Thaysa of cheating with Popovitch. Silva assaulted his wife in late January with reports saying that Silva shoved a gun into his wife's mouth.
Florida judge John Hurley said that there were probable causes for the accusations filed against Silva, which include two counts of aggravated assault with firearm, aggravated battery with deadly weapon, and additional charges for resisting arrest.
"You're a professional fighter. With or without a weapon, you could easily kill your wife," Judge Hurley told the Brazilian MMA icon. "The court notes that this was not isolated, this looks like ongoing domestic violence. I think there is a reasonable conclusion that you would confront your wife again and the court is concerned that you would bring great harm to her or kill her."
Hurley initially indicated a possible $2.5-million bond, but the judge retracted his earlier decision, saying that Silva should not be allowed to post bond since he is a huge flight risk and is still a serious threat to Thaysa and the people in his community.
Silva was supposed to go up against Ovince St. Preux at UFC 171, but Thursday's incident could be the reason why fight fans will never see him against inside the Octagon.
