Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Could Meet In $100 Million Super Fight

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are currently preparing for their next fights, but both boxing superstars are allegedly looking at the big picture - their long-proposed dream showdown.

Pacquiao is already in the critical part of his training camp for his rematch against Timothy Bradley on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

While his trainers are not looking past Bradley, they are convinced that an impressive win against the reigning WBO welterweight champion will put Pacquiao a step closer in landing a bout against Mayweather.

Strength and conditioning coach Justine Fortune said that the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao showdown is bound to happen, adding that Mayweather has no right to claim that he is the best until he faces Pacquiao.

"As far as I'm concerned, Mayweather can't go around saying he's the best until he fights the best and for me, Manny's the best," Fortune said.

According to Inquisitr, a win against Bradley will be Pacquiao's first of two steps before facing Mayweather.

Juan Manuel Marquez, who scored a knockout win against Pacquiao in their first showdown in December 2012, could be next for Pacquiao.

And if both fighters continue winning, they would finally meet in a super fight wherein both fighters could get at least $50 million in fight purse.

"As long as both Pacquiao and Mayweather can keep winning, it's likely that both fighters would command $50 million each when they finally meet, insiders believe," Inquisitr noted.

Pacquiao and his camp have been pushing for the super fight over the past several months, but Mayweather reiterated that a showdown with the Filipino boxing icon is not on his plans.

However, Top Rank Promotions chief Bob Arum believes that the blockbuster showdown can happen soon.

"On our side the answer is yes the fight can be made in 2014, we're very open to it," Arum said. "There are ways it can get done, they have to dumb down the rhetoric, we are prepared to dumb down the rhetoric and get it done. There is no real impediment to having that fight happen whether it will or not depends completely on the Mayweather side. I can see it happening but I can't predict that it will happen because it takes two to tango."

Mayweather, who remains undefeated in 45 fights, will face Marcos Maidana in his next fight on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
