Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not yet talking about his next fight in September, but British boxer Amir Khan is pushing for his dream fight once again.
In a recent interview, Khan said that he will talk to his adviser Al Haymon, and ask him to convince Mayweather to agree to a showdown later this year at the Wembley Stadium in London.
Khan was left in awe after seeing around 80,000 fans packing the Wembley Stadium during the rematch between Carl Froch and George Groves on Saturday.
"Let's try and force Floyd Mayweather to come to England and fight me here," Khan said. "I am going to try and force that upon Golden Boy Promotions, Al Haymon my manager and adviser and I am going to tell him 'look how big this event here is in Wembley, why can't we do a show like this?"
The 27-year-old Briton admitted that the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is still the hotbed of boxing, but Wembley is also a very ideal venue as proven by the success of the Froch-Groves rematch.
"The biggest stage in boxing is the MGM arena [in Las] Vegas, but after that I think it has to be Wembley, it's huge," Khan said. "I think everyone talks about the fights at Wembley, now Carl Froch and George Groves have done that here."
And if the fight against Mayweather is arranged, Khan, who is coming off a sensational win over Luis Collazo in their showdown last month, is confident that it will have the potential to make boxing history.
"Khan vs Mayweather, I think it would be amazing. We'd sell it out, it's a fight that everyone wants to see, two fighters that everyone knows about so let's get that done. I've had a taste for it now and I'd love to fight in that ring. I'd love to be here it would be great for the British fans," Khan said.
The Bolton, England native almost landed a bout against the reigning pound-for-pound king in May, but the unbeaten champion settle with a fight against Marcos Maidana, who gave Mayweather one of the toughest fights of his illustrious boxing career.
